Student Journalist Work

I graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a B.A. in Journalism, where I served as a staff writer, lead copy editor, video producer and broadcast intern for multiple campus publications. My favorite topics to cover are social movements and the arts. In 2016 I was awarded Best Reporter and Best Video, for my coverage of the Tax March in Downtown Los Angeles.

“Long Beach keeps music tangible, diverse” for The Daily 49er

Sentient Media Writing Fellowship

In 2020, I was fortunate enough to be a Writing Fellow for Sentient Media, an environmental justice and animal rights publication. I researched and wrote articles on animal rights issues, with a distinct emphasis on their intersection with human social structures like gender and race. My article “Marketing Masculinity: The Meat of the Matter” was published in VegWorld Magazine – The Food Issue and has been cited in multiple articles across the web. You can read all of my articles here.
